Some will make chump change and some will make millions.
I assume you mean first ten years after law school? If so, it depends on which direction they go. At large firms, in big cities, first year associate attorneys make $180k to start. That’s the top of the scale. In small firms, a first year associate may make $45-55k. That’s towards the bottom of working for firms. In either case, the attorney is likely to advance quite a bit in 10 years. So the 10-year top firm, big city attorney may end up making 2-3 million over the first ten years, while the small firm, medium city attorney would make 500-600k in ten years. Just estimates.
If you start your own firm at any point all bets are off. You could lose your shirt or retire in 10 years. Depends how good you are.
